Baptism is a beautiful, public commitment of your desire to follow Jesus. Jesus instructed us to be baptized, so baptism becomes a step of obedience in our journey with Him.

• TO FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE SET BY JESUS:
  At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River. — Mark 1:9
• JESUS HIMSELF COMMANDED IT:
  Then Jesus said to them, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:19-20
• TO PUBLICLY DEMONSTRATE THAT A PERSON IS A BELIEVER:
  And many … who heard him believed and were baptized. —Acts 18:8
• TOP OPENLY DEMONSTRATE OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST:
  “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and do not do what I say?” —Luke 6:46
  
• TO PUBLICLY IDENTIFY WITH CHRIST, WHO IS MAKING US COMPLETELY NEW:
  We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in the newness of life. — Romans 6:4

If you have believed in Jesus and have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, then you are ready to be baptized.
