Serving needs in Gresham and Oregon

Mountainview Christian serves those outside our church family,

but still nearby.

  • Benevolence

Mountainview has some limited assistance funds and/or food available for needy individuals or families in the East Central Gresham area. Both involve an application and interview process, which is handled by Carol Sheldon, our Care Network Pastor.

  • Common Threads Quilt Ministry

Common Threads meets once a month to create beautiful quilts.

Some quilts are given to member families going through difficult health treatments, or who have just had a new baby, others are given to the Pregnancy Resource Center and Legacy Mt. Hood Hospital. In addition, much of their handiwork is sent to Missions of Hope in Nairobi, Kenya.

Here are two ways you can help. The first is to join the group. The second is to provide good quality fabric and/or batting.

  • Highland Elementary School

We partner with nearby Highland Elementary school in several ways, including:

    • providing weekend food (Bag Buddies) for needy children.
    • helping with the SMART reader program.
    • assisting with classroom prep before each school year.
    • helping with grounds clean-up on Community Care Day.
    • assisting with school fundraisers.
